February: A Few of My Favorite Things

I've recently really been into makeup, it all started back in December when I started watching a lot of beauty guru videos on youtube, and since then I've been going to Sephora almost every week and trying out new things. As I started putting together my favorite items, i realized that there were so many more things I wanted to recommend, not related to beauty. So I thought A Few of My Favorite Things is something that I could do every month, and here were my favorite things for the month of February!

Ever since grade 9 I've always had problems with my skin, I've had terrible acne, and let's be honest, no makeup can cover up those blemishes completely. A few years ago I went into Sephora in LA and asked what was their best foundation for acne, and this is what I got recommended and ever since then it has done me wonders. It's Oil-Free and for all skin types and I think it's amazing, it matches my skin tone perfectly and sometimes people can't even tell I'm wearing it. Nowadays I get a lot of compliments on my complexion and people tell me I have great skin!

Yankee Candle: Christmas Cookie

My dad lives in Pickering and I am very fortunate that he does, because there are only 6 locations open in Canada and none of them are near Toronto. Yankee Candle is honestly my guilty pleasure, I can easily blow all my money on candles! How ridiculous is that? But I went in when they opened in December and I smelled their feature scent at the time which was Christmas Cookie and it smelled ah-mazing! This scent is a sugary, vanilla, sweet smell and it makes me feel all warm inside. I bought 4 large tumblr's and I'm on my second one now, so it does last a while, and I bought an air freshener for my car and a travel spray! Since it's past Christmas the closest scent I can recommend to it is Vanilla Cupcake; it is very similar, yet a little different. I recommend this place to anyone, they have all different sizes of candles, for home, sprays and air fresheners for your car and an overwhelming list of scents.

Milk_Shake: Leave In Conditioner

I went to the salon about two weeks ago and as they were drying my hair they sprayed this Milk_Shake Leave In Conditioner and on top of it actually making my hair feel so much silkier, it smells delicious. I'm not one who usually buys salon products, I think they're a waste of money, but for the smell alone, I would spend the $20, I find it to really condition my hair as well, usually I have to put mousse after I take a shower for my curls to be defined, but I've been using this product and my hair hasn't been too frizzy, and it feels smooth. Not something I'd really recommend for everyone, but I'm loving it right now.

Urban Decay: Naked Palette

My best friend bought me this for Christmas and I've been wanting it for awhile, just because these colors are gorgeous and there are so many different Naked eye tutorials on youtube that I've been dying to try. Anyone who looks at this knows these are beautiful shades, they work so well together, I don't really need to say more about this, it's reputation is self-explanatory; it's my go-to eye makeup for sure.

Countours: Urban Decay Baked Bronzer and Nars Bronzer
Urban Decay Baked Bronzer: Gilded

This bronzer is for face and body, and I love it because there is shimmer, and it's not matte. It's not too heavy and just gives that tinted look, and it's great that it can be used for the body as well. I usually apply this around my cheekbones and use the 3 motion from my temples to my cheeks to my chin.

Nars Bronzing Powder: Casino

This bronzer I use strictly for contouring, Casino is way too dark as a regular bronzer, if you're looking for a regular bronzer, I would recommend Laguna. With this bronzer I contour with an angled brush and it works really well, it's not too strong where it gives you that defined line across your cheek.

Make Up Forever Face Luminizer Gel

I love this luminizer because it gives such a healthy glow! I use it as a highlighter, and it just does wonder, it gives me a dewy, sun-kissed look and a natural glowing look. I can't say much more about it other than that it's fantastic, if I want to wear minimal makeup I use it as a highlighter and eye shadow.

Stila: Forever Your Curl Memory Mascara

I got this for free from Sephora, and if I bought it myself, I would say it is one of my best purchases. This mascara makes my eyes look so big, and it gives a natural curl which I love. I'm not one to ever set on just one or the same mascara, but this would be in my top 5.

H&M High-Waist Trousers

I purchased these high waisted trousers in a khaki colour from H&M the other day and they are so flattering. They make my legs look so long, and I have really skinny legs too, so you would think it would look awkward, but with a crop top they look great! They're slim and comfortable and can be worn with heels, flats or combat boots. I think I waisted slim trousers is what every girl needs in her closet for this season.
