Healthy Lifestyle

Lately I've been feeling not so healthy, and not so fit, I'm really self-conscious in my own body and I'm just not happy with myself when I look in the mirror. I've been gaining weight and my skin has been getting worse. There are many factors: now that school's done I have a completely different eating schedule, it's now summertime so the heat and my make-up are not a good combo, I now don't give a crap about what I eat, half of the week I work at  a company that has free food catered everyday and the other half I work at  restaurant  where I have access to all the food I want too. Altogether it's just not a good combo, and I'm not liking the way my body has been changing. So for this summer I'm beginning to try a healthy lifestyle. No, I'm not really on a "diet" because let's be honest, I love food way too much! Honestly, my sweet tooth is bigger than my brain. But I am going to start being more careful with what I eat, I'm going to try to not binge eat so much and start being active again. I'm one of those people who have a gym membership, but I haven't gone in months. They still take money out of my account, but I never go, and I'm afraid to cancel it because then I'll DEFF never ever go! So as of now I'm going to start going 3 times a week and take advantage of the classes GoodLife has to offer!




Today was Day 1 of my healthy lifestyle, I had a green tea, banana and cereal for breakfast, whole grain pasta and a salad for lunch, sushi for dinner and a piece of dark chocolate and a matcha green tea latte from Teaopia for dessert :) I did sneak a cookie in during lunch, but whatever, it's only my first day! Yesterday me and my boo did also do a session of hot yoga, which i haven't done in forever, but it felt SO great to get back into it! We went to Kula Yoga in Oakville, which was so great and on Sundays they have $5 classes! Amazing or what? Plus it was a different kind of date for us :) Then after we came home and had a piece of roast, split a corn on the cob, sweet potato, spinach and soup.



Some of my rules are:

  • No white carbs (if that even makes sense?) No white bread, white pasta, white rice
  • AS LITTLE SWEETS AS POSSIBLE! (this is going to be insanely tricky for me)
  • No dairy! That means no coffee/lattes :( (except for skim milk in my cereal/oatmeal)
  • No fried foods! Goodbye fast food!


I do plan on losing about 7 pounds after this, which shouldn't be too hard for me, because I tend to lose weight easily, but once I do lose that weight I want to maintain my healthy lifestyle, because even though it's one day in, I feel so motivated and inspired. Healthy eating=beautiful skin=happiness!!
